I represent a company doing business in ND, how do I register to begin remitting 9-1-1 fees?

Should my company remit prepaid wireless 9-1-1 fees here?

No, this system is set up exclusively for post-paid wireline, wireless and VoIP services.  Prepaid wireless 9-1-1 fees are collected by sellers of prepaid wireless service and remitted to the state tax commissioner.  Registration to remit those fees are handled by the tax commissioner’s office.

What is an “assessed communications service provider”?

North Dakota Century Code, Chapter 57-40.6, provides the definition of “assessed communications service”  an “assessed communications service provider” is simply a provider of that service.

What state laws apply to the 9-1-1 fees?

North Dakota Century Code, Chapter 57-40.6, covers most statutes associated with 9-1-1 fees including authority of counties and cities to impose a fee, the allowed administrative fee retention and payment of fee.
